May Measurement Month

30th April 2019

May Measurement Month

Throughout May, in support of the global ‘May Measurement Month’, the Royal Borough of Greenwich, in partnership with Charlton Athletic Community Trust and the British Heart Foundation will be offering free blood pressure checks.

This is part of the local ‘Be Sure of Your Blood Pressure’ programme, which has been running for almost 2 years now, and offers local residents quick, easy and convenient ways to get their blood pressure checked in blood pressure drop-ins around the borough.

Almost half of people who have high blood pressure don’t know it, so it’s important to get it checked.

High blood pressure can increase your risk of heart attack, stroke, heart and kidney disease and some forms of dementia, so it’s important to keep your blood pressure at a healthy level.

The ‘Be Sure of Your Blood Pressure’ mobile unit will be touring the borough throughout May, offering free and friendly advice and support to help live a healthy lifestyle, as well as offering free blood pressure checks in the following locations:

Wednesday 1st May – Friday 3rd May
IKEA, Greenwich
10am – 4pm

Tuesday 7th May – Friday 10th May
