Anyone can get Type 2 diabetes. But, being over 40 years old, being overweight or having a relative with it can increase our risk.
The good news is that there are steps you can take to lower your risk of diabetes:
You don’t have to do this all at once or even by yourself. Greenwich offers lots of support.
If you are at increased risk of developing Type 2 diabetes, you may be referred to the Greenwich Diabetes Prevention Programme. It’s designed to help you:
- find out more about your risk of developing the condition
- make small changes that will improve your health and lower your risk
- get support that is right for you
If you are at risk and registered with a Greenwich GP, your doctor can refer you for further support.
