International Women’s Day 2019 healthy living events

This International Women’s Day (IWD), Greenwich Get Active have teamed up with the national campaign ‘This Girl Can’ to help women and girls in Greenwich move more, be healthy and most of all, have fun.

There’s no right way to get active – if it gets your heart rate up then it counts. And we want you to find something that’s right for you, from an organised session, to dancing round the kitchen, cycling to work or literally running the school run.

Getting active in everyday life helps boost energy, fitness and wellbeing. Regular activity can help manage stress and keep us healthy. It can also be a great way to have some all-important ‘me time’, meet new people or spend time with family and friends.

Every 10 active minutes counts, aiming for 150 minutes a week. Doing something is better than nothing, but the more you do, the more you benefit.

To celebrate IWD 2019 and to help women and girls find an activity that works for them, local sports providers, including leisure centres, clubs and community centres, are opening their doors to offer extra organised sessions and free trials.

Below is a list of free (unless stated otherwise) healthy living activities taking place across Greenwich, which are all designed to be fun, friendly and make you feel fabulous!
