Food for Life

The Food for Life award from the Soil Association supports schools in developing a positive food culture and reconnecting children with where their food comes from through opportunities to cook, grow and visit working farms. The award is a great tool to focus specific pieces of work to enhance food education in the classroom and extra-curricularly, and improve parent engagement.

Senior school leaders consistently report that Food for Life in their school contributes to improving attainment, behaviour and enhancing school environments. Children attending schools with Food for Life awards are twice as likely to eat five or more portions of fruits and vegetables and 40% more likely to ‘like’ or ‘really like’ school meals.

Royal Borough of Greenwich Public Health fund the cost of primary schools joining the award and provide full support for them to achieve it. Primary schools wishing to join can register immediately at: https://www.foodforlife.org.uk/registration/enrol using the discount code GREENWICH-INVOICE.
