Get down to a Better Greenwich leisure centre this World Cancer Day

Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL), the charitable social enterprise behind Better leisure facilities in Greenwich, is supporting World Cancer Day on Sunday 4th February.

As Cancer Research UK’s official charity partner for 2018, GLL Better leisure centres are opening their doors to host a range of exciting social and physical activities to help raise funds to beat cancer.

In Greenwich around 900 people are diagnosed with cancer every year – one of the highest rates across London.  However, with 1 in 3 cancers in the UK being linked to smoking, diet and being overweight, we now know that there are things we can all do to lower the risk of getting cancer, including moving a little bit more in our daily lives.

If you would like to get involved in any of the fundraising activities then head down to one of the centres below:

22nd January – 4th February – Thamesmere Leisure Centre,  Waterslide, Raffle & Bouncy Activities, 9am-5pm

25th January – 4th February – Waterfront Leisure Centre,  Total Body Conditioning/Bouncy Castle/Raffle, 10.30am-11.30am 

Sunday 4th February –
The Greenwich Centre,  Extreme Interval Fitness, 9am-10am
Better Gym Woolwich,  Open Day/Cake Sale, 11am-12pm
Charlton Lido and Lifestyle Club,  Charity HIIT Class, 12pm-12.30pm
The Eltham Centre, Ballet, Kettle bells & Rebounder taster, 12.30pm-2pm
Sutcliffe Park Sports Centre,  Sprint & 1 Mile Challenge, 2pm-5pm
